Welcome to the Dayton-Miami Valley Guild of the Catholic Medical Association

The CMA assists us to grow in our understanding of the moral and ethical principles of our Catholic Faith. We seek to engage and live our call to holiness, to grow in our love of God, and to support one another as faithful Catholics.

About Us

Welcome Health Care Professionals,

Thank you for viewing our page!  The Dayton-Miami Valley CMA Guild was originally organized as the Southwest Ohio Guild in 2008 by Dr. Gary George.  Our patron saint is St. (Padre) Pio of Pietrelcina.

Our Guild has been small numerically, but with God’s grace, through the years we have hosted dinners, retreats and educational events.  We have been active with the Wright State University Catholic Medical Student Association.

With the establishment of the Cincinnati Guild several years ago and the departure of Dr. George in 2021, our Guild is renewing, starting with a new name to better reflect our primary catchment area.  We are very blessed to have the support of our active, dynamic sister Guilds in Cincinnati and Columbus.  Our Guild is currently in rebuilding mode and this is an excellent opportunity to get involved with the Guild and help chart its future course!

Our members are dedicated to actively living the Catholic faith and incorporating Catholic principles in clinical practice.  I would like to extend an invitation to all Dayton-area Catholic healthcare practitioner to join us!  Please feel free to contact me for any questions or additional information.

Soli Deo Gloria,

Roger R. Hesselbrock, M.D.
President, Dayton-Miami Valley Guild
